Facebook rolls out an arsenal of tools to help you battle your News Feed

Facebook want’s to help you battle your News Feed. So they’re arming you with some neat little tools.

Just when you got comfortable adjusting yourself to the revolving door known as Facebook’s News Feed, the company is announcing changes yet again, but we have a feeling you’re going to like this one. Whether you are a William Hill Arsenal betting fan or a Candy Crush Saga enthusiast or even just a Facebook news fanatic, choosing what you see on your Facebook news feed has just got so much better.

Facebook want’s to give you back control of your News Feed, so, they’re releasing a new suite of tools in News Feed Preferences that help you filter posts from specific people or pages you want to see, this way you never miss a beat.

Here’s a few of the settings you’ll get to tinker with in News Feed Preferences:

Facebook News Feed

Select friends and Pages to see first: This allows you to prioritize your News Feed with the people and information you want to see displayed first, as opposed to what Facebook thinks it wants you to see.

Here’s how to use it according to Facebook’s blog post:

Within News Feed Preferences, tap on a friend’s profile picture to see their posts first. You will then see any new stories they’ve shared since your last visit to Facebook at the top of News Feed, with a star in the top right of their post so you know why they’re at the top. You can scroll down to see the rest of your News Feed normally.

Find new Pages to connect to: This is just another fancy to help you discover potential businesses, publishers, or artists. It taps into the pages you’ve liked in the past and presents new ones it thinks you may find helpful.

Select which friends and Pages to follow or unfollow: Ever wonder which friends or Pages that usually dominate your News Feed? This neat little tool pulls the most popular people and Pages in your News Feed over the past week. From there, you can choose to unfollow or re-follow people’s pages.

The updated tools are currently available to iOS users at the time. Android should roll out in the next coming weeks, according to the company.

To access News Feed Preferences, tap “More” in the bottom-right corner of the app. News Feed Preferences are located under Settings.
