During Apple’s WWDC 2019 Keynote yesterday, there was plenty of light shed on things like tvOS, iOS 13, and more, but one little tidbit of information that slid under the radar involved everyone’s favorite RichPods.

Soon, AirPods and the upcoming AirPods 2 owners will be able to share music with other AirPod owners quickly and easily through a new Audio Sharing feature.

Audio Sharing with your AirPods

The feature, when it releases with the upcoming iOS 13, couldn’t be easier to use. Simply prompt Audio Sharing on one iPhone and bring another iPhone or a set of AirPods close by and you’ll start sharing the audio you’re listening to.

It is was not made clear how non-Apple headphones will work with the feature or if you’ll be able to share audio from any app, but iOS 13 is expected to launch in the fall of this year, so we shouldn’t have to wait too long.

It’s honestly not a huge feature, but if anyone remembers sharing a set of headphones on the school bus or using a splitter with a significant other to jam together on the couch, then the feature is definitely a fun little nostalgia trip made modern.
